I've become quite familiar with the coffee aisle at the grocery store. I know what brand and blend my boss prefers. I even know where to find the sweet-n-low (suprisingly not in the coffee aisle). But usually that's where my relationship with coffee ends. I buy it, put it in the cupboard, and that's it. Today, however, Todd asked me to make the coffee since a bunch of people were coming in for depositions. Oh great, ask the Mormon girl to make the coffee. It was probably quite hilarious watching me try to figure out how that darn coffee maker works. Where do I put the water? Where does this filter thing go? How many scoops of coffee do I put in? Do I just push the on button and walk away? There's really no telling how the coffee turned out. It's not like I was going to taste test it. And honestly, what good would that have done anyway since I've never had coffee before? Not only did I make the coffee, but then some people wanted me to make their cup of coffee. Oh goodness. I don't know how much of what to put in to make that nasty smelling dark liquid taste good.
P.S. I wonder if the coffee will burn? Am I supposed to turn the machine off? Or does it turn off automatically? Well, I guess we'll just wait and see what happens...
Actually you making coffee isn't any funnier than when I make coffee. No matter how many times I do it, I'm still thinking "is that where the water goes?" What can I say, it's a weird coffee pot! And it's REALLY weird that there's no "pot" of coffee when it's done. Just FYI: that particular coffee pot won't burn, but "normal" coffee pots will so you have to turn them off. The smell of burnt coffee is gross.
ReplyDeleteP.S. Thought nobody read your blog, didn't you?
Haha, when we first got the machine didn't you put the water in the wrong place and make some REALLY STRONG coffee? I'm glad I'm not the only coffee-making struggler in the office :) And yes, I am surprised you read my blog!
